BILBAO
Incentive Travel
Welcome to Bilbao, a region where gastronomy plays an important role, but not only...
The participants stayed in the historic centre. A fantastic location for a tasting of pintxos, the typical tapas, as well as a bike ride and boat trip along the river.
And, of course, a visit to the Guggenheim Museum.
To round off the programme, a visit to a vineyard near Gernika, with a tasting of local produce.
About the event :
Gernika's name is familiar to everyone thanks to the famous painting by Pablo Picasso.
But what is it really? It's the cradle of Basque culture, the nucleus of a civilisation steeped in history.
The Casa de Juntas and its famous oak tree ‘árbol de Gernika’, a political meeting place and today a symbol of the Basque people, can be found here. It has now been declared a Site of Cultural Interest.
For those who have not yet had the chance to appreciate Picasso's original work in Madrid, a reproduction can be seen in the streets of Gernika.
Another idea for exploring near Bilbao is the Marqués de Riscal vineyard.
1h20 from Bilbao, the vineyard-lined village of El Ciego is home to one of La Rioja's most famous wineries.
Founded in 1858, today you can visit the historic Bodega, its vineyards and, above all, the hotel designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehry.
